Configuring Audiggle for the first time
There are no recording inputs listed. What should I do?
What is Audiggle?
How do I use Audiggle?
I’ve tried everything but still get a ‘Not Found’. What should I do?
Have you ever thought – ‘what is the name of that song?’. Audiggle can provide the answer! Audiggle is the definitive music ID software. Whatever the source of music on your computer, one click of the mouse can give you the title and artist.
Audiggle software captures a short clip of whatever audio is playing on your PC. It then searches a huge database of similar clips, and returns the answer.
The source of audio is irrelevant. As such, potential media might include:
- Watching a TV show/movie – e.g. DVD
- Online video e.g. YouTube
- Streaming online TV e.g. Hulu
- Internet Radio
- Mislabelled audio tracks
- And many more!
Broadly speaking, any! Audiggle works best with high quality audio, but can even recognize background music in a TV/Film scene.
Completely! We keep no recorded clips on file and all songs are available for purchase through fully licensed outlets.
A downloadable application offers far greater accuracy in search results, plus improved user experience. We hope to offer a web based solution in the future to accompany the downloadable app.
You can download and install Audiggle on as many PCs as you like, but you can only search on one PC at a time.
You will be asked to configure the software for your system. Please follow the simple instructions on screen. Audiggle will recommend options wherever possible.
1) Select a recording option
This is a list of all the available recording inputs on your PC. If there are multiple options, choose one and test it.
2) Select a recording line
This is a list of recording lines on your selected recording input. If there is only one option avaible, you can skip this step and go straight to 3).
3) Audio Test.
You will hear a short audio clip played on your speakers (please ensure they are not muted, and the volume is loud enough). Audiggle will then try to record the clip and play it back. If you can hear the clip, Audiggle is succesfully configured for your PC. If not, select a different configuration in 1)/2) and test again.
Please note, several configurations may work on your PC. When first using Audiggle, we suggest you try a test search. To do this, open up your favourite media player (e.g. iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp etc), play a song by a well known band and try to search for it using Audiggle. This will confirm that everything is configured correctly.
Make sure all your sound drivers are up to date. You can find details of how to update your driver on your PC manufacturer’s website. If you are using Vista/Win 7, please ensure that all sound devices are enabled. To do this, please follow the instructions below.
Go to Start Menu->Control Panel->Sound.
Select ‘Recording’ tab at the top.
Right-click anywhere and make sure that both ‘Show Disabled Devices’ and ‘Show Disconnected Devices’ are ticked.
If a device is labelled as ‘Disabled’, you can enable it by right-clicking on it, and selecting ‘Enable’.
If a device is labelled as ‘Not Plugged In’, it is disconnected from your PC (e.g. you have a microphone but it is not currently attached to your PC).

Yes – you can configure how Audiggle displays alerts through ‘File->Settings->Alerts’ on the Audiggle interface. There, you can choose whether alerts are:
1) always displayed (default)
2) alerts are displayed only if the application is minimized or if you are watching video in full screen
3) alerts are off.
(Please note, if you run a search and alerts are off, you will only see the results on the interface itself.)

You can now automatically update your Twitter feed thanks to the Audiggle InstaTweet function. Simply click on File->Settings->Twitter, click ‘Enable InstaTweet’, fill in your Twitter Username and Password and your profile will be updated automatically. Simply!
Increasing server costs mean we have to charge to keep the service live. Having said that, we will always offer a free package – using our Basic plan, you can perform 5 queries every month for free. This will reload every month (so long as your account remains active).
The best thing to do is contact us here and we can review your account.
Once logged in, you can upgrade your account by clicking on ‘Upgrade’ in your user profile. Alternatively, you can visit this link.
In general, all payments are non-refundable. However, in rare cases, we will make exceptions. Please contact us here if you wish to discuss a refund.
Audiggle Pro is a subscription service that charges a monthly recurring payment to your account until cancelled.
You can cancel your Pro subscription here. In order to cancel your subscription, you will be redirected to PayPal to complete the cancellation process.
If you cancel your subscription, your account will immediately revert to the Flex package level (though you will need to add credits/upgrade to Pro again to perform searches).
Make sure that you have correctly configured Audiggle (see above). In order to improve search results, ensure that your speakers are not muted and that there is only one source of audio playing. Audiggle works best with high quality audio, but can even recognise background music. If you are trying to identify background music, we suggest you alter the length of audio clip. You can do this by going to ‘File->Settings->Recording’ on the Audiggle Software. Selecting an option toward ‘Accuracy’ will increase the likelihood of a successful query.
Please be aware that sometimes, music in TV shows/Films is actually part of the musical score and is not a commercially available track, and thus will not be identified.
In rare situations, Audiggle can run into problems. The following can lead to a ‘Not Found’ result:
- Live versions of songs
- Music with heavy voiceover
- Music that makes heavy use of sampling and remixes (e.g. house/techno)
- Some Classical music
If you receive the message ‘Your system does not support audio compression’, do not worry. Without audio compression, Audiggle will still work, but results will be much slower. During installation, Audiggle will try to fix this. However, should it fail, you can manually install audio compression by going to ‘File->Settings->Misc.’ on the Audiggle interface and click ‘Install’. This should also install audio compression.
Yes Audiggle should run on 64 bit windows systems. However, as ever, please report any bugs via our contact page.
